How to get a Sri Lanka visa
Getting a Sri Lanka visa starts with the right category, not only the form. Tourist ETA, business ETA, transit, visa extension, residence and investor visa plans all need different file logic. A short trip can still be business. A stopover can stop being transit if you plan meetings or tourism. A tourist file can become weak when the real plan is long stay.
Visa route comparison
| Route | Best for | Main risk | Start here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tourist ETA | Holiday, short visit, first entry | Dates, accommodation or return logic unclear | Tourist ETA |
| Business ETA | Meetings, events, short commercial visits | Business activity described as tourism | Business ETA |
| Transit ETA | Route connection or short stopover | Transit used for a real Sri Lanka visit | Transit ETA |
| Visa extension | Already in Sri Lanka or likely to stay longer | Late timing and weak current-status review | Visa Extension |
| Residence / investor | Company, investment, retirement or settled stay | Source of funds, purpose and evidence not aligned | Residence planning |
Official fee vs consulting fee
Official government fees, airline requirements and border decisions are separate from VizeLanka consulting. For short ETA routes we use total package pricing: Tourist normal 75 USD / urgent 100 USD, Business normal 100 USD / urgent 149 USD and Transit 40 USD. For extensions, the file-support margin is 30 USD on top of the official country-duration fee.
When consulting is useful
Professional support is most useful when travel is close, the purpose is mixed, a later extension is likely, or a residence or investor route may be more realistic than a short stay file. The aim is clear file logic before you apply, not an approval guarantee.
